Warehouse Receiver
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for receiving, verifying, storing, and distributing both perishable and non-perishable merchandise, while maintaining accurate inventory and supporting the flow of goods to and from the warehouse. This role plays an essential part in ensuring product integrity, operational efficiency, and excellent service to internal and external customers.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Receive local and overseas shipments, including both perishable and non-perishable merchandise.

Check and verify incoming and outgoing deliveries by visually inspecting products and comparing them against packing slips, invoices, or shipping documents.

Receive and check shipments in a timely and accurate manner.

Ensure order specifications (e.g., quantity, quality) are correct upon receipt of items.

Reject any items not found in the system unless explicit authorization or instructions are provided; such items must be returned immediately.

Accurately store and maintain location information for all received stock.

Assist in or perform inventory counts and reconciliations to identify losses or discrepancies.

Sort and organize all pallets by type and color (brown, blue, and plastic).

Ensure that all vendors retrieve the same number of pallets they deliver (e.g., if four pallets are delivered, four must be taken back).

Ensure all in-store transfers are completed in good condition and accompanied by the correct paperwork.

Load and unload delivery trucks in support of warehouse and outbound operations.

Maintain delivery records such as logs, manifests, and receipts for internal tracking and compliance purposes.

File and transmit receiving and requisition documentation to the Accounting Department as required.

Monitor and manage vendor tag issuance by logging names and collecting a valid photo ID for every vendor issued a tag.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, including containers and loading areas.

Maintain cleanliness and organization around all trash bins; ensure consistent disposal practices and that no debris is left outside of bins.

Ensure all emergency exits remain clear and unlocked during working hours.

Follow safe driving practices and operate material handling equipment properly and safely.

Education/Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Certifications:

Valid Health Certificate

Forklift certification is a plus (or willingness to be trained and certified)<
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Able to read and speak in English

Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and customers

Prior experience in warehouse, receiving, or logistics operations is preferred

Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency

Proficiency in maintaining accurate records and documentation
