Produce Supervisor
Job Purpose:
The Produce Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Produce Department. This includes supervising produce staff, managing product ordering and inventory, ensuring proper merchandising and shelf presentation, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role requires flexibility in scheduling to support the store’s needs and ensure efficient department performance.

Supervise and train team members in daily tasks and safety procedures.

Schedule shifts and delegate responsibilities effectively.

Work with Store Manager to provide feedback on team performance evaluations.

Demonstrate product knowledge, understand movement, the supply chain, and order efficiently.

Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely restocking of products.

Prepare and conduct physical inventory.

Manage product rotation, conduct vendor claims, and control markdowns/damages in accordance with company guidelines.

Receive and verify merchandise if receiver is unavailable.

Assist customers with inquiries and provide product recommendations.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the aisles and back room.

Train staff on proper handling, dating standards, and storage of products.

Examine equipment to ensure it is working properly.

Implement sales strategies to highlight department promotions and increase sales.

Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Understand the department's Fiscal Year budget and strive to meet those numbers or work with management to communicate potential barriers.

Education/Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent
-
2-5 years experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with staff and customers

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google docs

Capability to lift heavy items and work in cold environments for extended periods

Ability to analyze sales data and customer feedback to forecast for future orders
